TechDay 2017 brings together the entire tech community, from the biggest industry leaders and investors to smallest of startups, with the one day event pulling in more than 10,000 visitors.
“With areas set aside for technologies such as blockchain, big data, apps, analytics, and of course IoT, we attended TechDay to keep an eye open for innovative solution providers who could enable our partners with new technologies and get them ahead of the competition—whether it be a new feature-filled router, or a fancy telepresence robot!
A lot of the talk this year focused on IT security and especially securing IoT devices. We were able to pick up some great insights around the tech market and have some great ideas around security solutions that are easy to drop in and introduce into our partners existing services.”

The Internet of (racing) Things
This year, we added to the Techday mix by showcasing our IoT ecosystem—with a little help from our very own Pangea IoT Scalextrics.
Racing might seem simple on the surface: go fast, win races. But ask any Formula One team and they’ll tell you there’s much more to it. Instead, vehicle telemetry data enabled by IoT technology can make or break getting into pole position. Likewise, consumers and businesses can benefit from similar telematics—from route optimisation and predictive maintenance, to driver improvement and settling insurance claims.
So at TechDay 2017, our IoT Scalextrics demo didn’t just record fastest lap times. Live data recorded on our dashboard gave an overview of our racers’ performance, meaning they could plan and fine-tune their winning strategies.
