Taking home two trophies at the Connected Britain Awards 2020

Pop the champagne! We took home the titles and trophies for IoT Project of the year and Commercial Connectivity Project of the year at last week’s Connected Britain 2020.

Here are the two awards we won, along with the solutions that landed us the victories.

We landed the IoT Award for our world-first smart container solution. Just about every industry out there relies on logistics; so it’s crucial that operations run smoothly. But with supply chain blindness, multiple handlers, and unpredictable weather conditions to contend with, getting assets unharmed from point A to point B is easier said than done.

That’s where our smart containers come in. Through sensors able to monitor location, temperature, humidity, and more, teamed with global Multi-network connectivity, we’re giving supply chain operators total visibility and control over their assets. Now, they can easily find lost shipments, anticipate any delays, and take preventative measures to keep their cargo safe through rough conditions.

We helped our partner connect one of the largest airlines in the world. Our Multi-network SIMs gave them the intelligent, adaptive connectivity they needed to connect 700 crew devices across 120 of the airline’s planes. This meant they could then run their EPOS and in-flight media solutions without hassle, and protect themselves from massive roaming-incurred overages.

It took a lot of preparation, and even more speed—we analysed over 70,000 flights, then rolled out the whole solution in just two weeks. But it was more than worth it.

Our partner gained a single, reliable supply for their solution and were able to access a fresh revenue stream, opening up more six and seven-figure opportunities with European and global airlines.
